St Cuthbert’s Congregation started as a mission from Newton with the opening of a hall, dedicated to St. Cuthbert, on Bushy Hill on 12th February 1899. St. Cuthbert’s Church, a mission Hall in Bownside Road was dedicated on 27th November 1909. The charge was served from Newton until 1926 when it came under St. Margaret’s Newlands, Glasgow until 1937 and then again under Newton untilNewton closed in 1957. The Newton congregation united with Cambuslang in 1962. The charge was raised to an incumbency in 1970St.Andrew’s Uddingaton was linked with Cambuslang in 1976. St. Cuthbert’s Cambuslang was then linked with St. Mark’s, East Kilbride in 2016.
